2010 has been a very busy year for the singer/songwriter Sertari. After spending the majority of last year on the road, she was nominated for “Best Live Act” and “Best Song” in the EMA Awards, and this year has seen her reaching even further heights – so it only seems fitting that she finished it off on the road again…
With a live show that has developed a reputation for it’s high energy and crowd involvement, she is set to embark on a New Years tour of Cyprus alongside Cypriot group DNA – with a busy schedule of TV and radio appearances. She has shows scheduled at various venues across the Island:
28th December – Notos Bar – Paphos
29th December – Scarabeo – Nicosia30th December – Pepenero Gemma – Limassol
2nd Janurary – 7 Seas – Limassol
Now nominated in the “International Independent Artist Awards,” 2010 has also seen her recording at the world-famous Metropolis studios in London and releasing a single in the US with all proceeds going to a charity for US schools. She is also scheduling a release in the UK for the Great Ormond Street Children’s charity. Her music has also caught the eye of brands world-wide and she has become an Akai Pro and Abelton Artist. But she has still found time to write a new album due to be released in early 2011…with her Cyprus tour being the first outing for a lot of her new songs:
“I really can’t wait to get out gigging again“ says Sertari. “I’ve spent a long time in the studio so it’s going to be great to hit the stage with these new songs – and it’s going to be extra special as it’s in Cyprus where my family is from. It’s going to be great to play alongside DNA too who are great friends of mine!!”
Sertari is not your ordinary singer/songwriter; she is a performer and writer with a passion for performing and getting the crowd immersed in her music. Born in the UK to a Cypriot family, she was brought up in a quiet town in where the closest thing to the Mediterranean is Costa Coffee. Using the stage as an outlet, she has shown the drive and ability to achieve big things.
Her father was a singer and is one of her biggest inspirations and influences, and as a result she has taken on his stage name (Nicolas Sertari), and her song “Beautiful Day” is about how her parents have inspired her music. As a person, she is very positive and charismatic, and she has that unique ability to light up a room when she enters. Her positive, “can-do” attitude is very much reflected in her music, with uplifting lyrics and messages embedded in each song.
From a young age she has been involved in the music scenes in the UK and Europe and has several releases worldwide. She has achieved worldwide press, radio play and TV which, accompanied with her unique worldwide appeal, has helped propel her exceptional talent to fans across the globe.
Over the years Sertari has worked and performed with producers and artists such as Adrian Hall (Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys), Peter Wright (Robbie Williams), and Scratch from the Roots and is currently working with J-Ivy – an artist from Chicago who has worked withJay-Z and Kanye West. In the UK, she is working with a top BBC DJ on remixes of her material. And as well as her musical skills, she is also a highly skilled martial artist – so she make look petite – but this girl pack a punch and not just with her vocals.
