Sirius Dog Sanctuary needs your help!

The Sirius Dog Sanctuary a private initiative, and receives minimal funding from the Cyprus Government.   Currently there are over 140 dogs and puppies there, cared for by a few Volunteers.  All these poor creatures have been abandoned, some with terrible injuries from maltreatment.

We spay/neuter every dog which we re-home, to avoid further unwanted puppies. We survive through donations which all go towards Veterinary fees and food.

In 2008 the Limassol District Administration took the owner to court, as the building was built illegally (many years ago).  After a campaign by Sirius supporters, the Authorities agreed in 2009, that the demolition order DID NOT HAVE TO BE CARRIED OUT UNTIL SIRIUS HAD FOUND OTHER PREMISES.

In Jan 2010 the owner was asked why he had not demolished the building, and was threatened with prison, for non-compliance.  Understandably he has now given Sirius until 30 June 2010 to find new premises.
Members of Sirius are now desperately trying to find alternative premises, and to raise funds to pay for the move.
IF NO PREMISES ARE FOUND, ALL THE DOGS WILL BE EUTHANISED.
