The Best International Broadcaster Award Winner of 2004, Nikos Garavelas, started his career as a country music radio broadcaster at Athens 98,4 FM and Kanali 1 of Pireus.
His radio show ranks first since 1993, according to the official statistics (Focus, Kapa Research).
He has been broadcasting his successful program each night from 22:00-01:00 at Love Radio 97,5 FM www.loveradio.gr.
He is the first radio broadcaster to present Country and Native American music to a broader Greek audience. He introduced the erotic way of speaking to the audience of his programs and has become a “role model” for new producers.
The creator of very successful country song compilations Dream High I (1996 Sony music), Dream High II (Warner Bros 1999), Dream High III (Warner Music 2005) and Timeless I, II & III (Universal Music), a remarkable thing to be done for the Greek reality, which has become the turning point for the Greek music market.
In 2002 he wrote the book “Country Music : the Stories” published by Synthesis S.A. This book is the first one to be written by a Greek author referring to the stories hidden behind the verses and tunes of country songs. Publisher of the music newspaper, COUNTRY MUSIC, formerly called “The Big Revival”, which is dispatched at no cost to all members of C.M.A.G.
Founder and chairman of the C.M.A.G (1998) one of the most popular clubs in Greece, which ranks 3rd among music clubs in Europe, legally recognized by the Greek legislation and the CMA, Nashville T.N.
