Usually the last thing an artist wants is for people to rip their work to pieces. Well that’s exactly what Dutch DJ and producer Funkerman is asking you to do with his new release Automatic.
Funkerman has just unveiled his brand new website www.funkerman.com – and to celebrate we’re launching a huge remix competition. The Flamingo Recordings head honcho is giving amateur producers the chance to put their money where their mouth is by offering up the parts for Automatic in what can only be described as a dance music free-for-all!
Funkerman has been on a roll with monster singles flying out thick and fast from his Dutch studio. Following on from Slide and his scorching remix of Ida Corr’s I Want You, Automatic is a true hands-in-the-air track that will have house heads and Flamingo fanatics heading straight for the dance floor.
If you think you’ve got what it takes to create a brand new reworking of this already dynamite tune, then listen up. To download the parts for Automatic visit www.funkerman.com, then get your production hat on and see if you can come up with the goods. You’ll be working with a raise-the-roof-off vocal courtesy of Shermanology, warm, luscious piano riffs, thundering bass lines, countless synth elements and of course, your own God-given talent.
When you’re done, post your track up on YouTube with the title ‘Funkerman – Automatic – (Your Name) Remix’ and email the link over to [email protected]. Funkerman will pick his personal selection from those posted up online, with the finalists showcased in front of thousands on www.funkerman.com. Then it’s down to the listening public to pick the winning track, which will be released worldwide as the official remix to Automatic. You will also win a I4 Muzique voucher with an expenditure of € 1500,- of studio equipment by M-Audio and/or Digidesign LE products. http://www.i4-muzique.nl/
So if you really think you can impress the man whose label has put out Speed Up, Take No Shh, Remember, Let Me Think About It, Slide and of course Put Your Hands Up For Detroit, then why are you still here? Get yourselves to www.funkerman.com and get cracking!
