Yoav Bernstein started producing House and Techno in 94. Coming from a broad musical background (playing piano, trombone, guitar and drums). In the past decade he has developed what’s been described as ‘a new sound in techno’. Often characterized by a raw, low-fidelity, sci-fi aesthetic his tracks have found their way onto the playlists of people like C2, Dan Curtin, Luciano and records labels like Detroit’s Teknotika and Wallshaker Music, Delsin, Miso Records plus his own imprint Wabi Sabi Recordings. His track ‘Energize’, now an underground classic, has featured on Carl Craig’s Fabric mix cd and on the Dessous compilation by Steve Bug and Ame. One of the most respected DJs in his home country of Israel, he’s been spinning records since 96 from special Old School mixes, House and Techno, Disco, Funk etc. He’s played with some of THE most respected DJs – Juan Atkins, Stacy Pullen, Carl Craig and Suburban Knight, and his skills and wizardry behind the turntables are in the school of Derrick May & Jeff Mills.
