Boxing Day. You know the feeling – you’ve finished the turkey sandwiches and are sitting in stupified boredom on the couch watching a movie you didn’t really want to see. Christmas fun is over and all you have left to remind you is a thumping hangover.
This Friday, start your evening off with a difference. Jazzy B bring you Marios Takoushis live from London. Takoushis is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Lyon, and now works as a film composer and session musician in London. His most recent filmscores include the highly acclaimed BBC films “Margaret Thatcher: The Long Walk To Finchley” and Messiah V.” He’s also composed for MTV`s EXIT campaign, and CNN, and has released a solo CD. He is currently working on the BBC`s “Olly & Suzi”.
On Friday though, he takes a break from accompanying ensembles in New York, Paris, Sydney and London, and comes to good old Limassol, Cyprus. His piano playing will be matched with the ever-fantastic George Krasides on tenor sax, Lakis Karapatakis on bass and George Koulas on drums.
Doors open 22:00 and entrance costs 8 euro. And Boxing Day is of course the 26th December… and no, I don’t know why we strange English people call it that. In any case, definitely not one to be missed!
